Meet Our Optometrists in Sheridan

Dr. Joseph Katschke

Dr. Joseph Katschke graduated Southern California College of Optometry with honors in 2007. After graduation he moved to Sheridan and took a position with WyoVision. Three years later he bought into the practice and is now the majority owner. Dr. Katschke grew up in a dusty rural Nevada town, Panaca, where he developed a love for outdoors and sports. Upon completion of high school he attended Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2003. His pursuit of a professional degree was put on hold for two years when he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent two years serving the people of South Africa. In June of 2000, he married an amazing woman, Amy, who is his eternal companion. They enjoy four wonderful children. Dr. Katschke and Amy love family vacations, visiting family, cooking outdoors, bike rides and hikes with their children, and serving in their church and community.

Dr. David C. Fisher

Dr. David C. Fisher is the newest Optometrist to join our team. However, he is not new to the profession of Optometry. He has worked as an Eye Doctor for 27 years and is excited to apply that experience to the Sheridan Community. Dr. Fisher will be the primary doctor at Sheridan Optical as well as seeing patients part time at WyoVision. His goal is to put the best interest of his patients at the top of his priority list.

Dr. Fisher said, “ I have been able to work in many practice settings in Southern California among multiple ethnic and language groups. I have been blessed to serve our troops with activation status eye exams, to serve the families of personnel at George and Norton Air Force Bases with hospital commander commendation at George AFB, and to have developed the Rural Eye Care Program for the Cherokee Nation as an assistant professor at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Oklahoma. My patients have always been the brightest, strongest, and most rewarding aspect of each of these situations.”

He has skills in construction, fine woodworking, and mechanic’ work to name a few. He is a hard-core DIY big game hunter (hunted Wyoming for 25 years) and big game ocean fisherman. He has interests in farm-to-table organic farming with extensive application of this interest in healthcare.
