We are currently experiencing the start of the year rush to see an eyecare provider. This means that the schedule for an eye appointment fills up quickly. As of this post, if you call to schedule an appointment, you will probably find that you are going to have to wait 1-month to get on the schedule. We understand any frustration that this may cause, but we have several options to help alleviate that struggle.
The Patient Portal
As a part of the electronic health care records and under federal guidelines, we established a patient portal for all patients to be able to access records of care provided in our office. One part of this portal is the ability to schedule your appointment using this tool. We encourage you to use this tool as one opportunity to avoid some frustration. It will give you a very good idea of what appointments are available for the next 12 months.
Our Appointment Cancellation List
We know that many times the wait is just too great. If you have a flexible schedule, and you know that you could accept a last-minute appointment, we will be more than happy to add you to our list of those looking to fill our cancelled appointments. The cancellation list operates under a first come first served basis. If you are unable to take the appointment when you receive a call, you will need to ask to be put back on the list. Once called you will move to the bottom of the list. We offer this as a courtesy and want each person to have an equal opportunity when an opening on the schedule comes available.
Call the Office
You can always call the office to check on availability. Our staff will be more than happy to provide you with the times that are available for appointments. Please be patient with the staff. Each one is here to help you have the best experience possible, but sometimes the office is busy, and it may take a moment to focus on the task that is presented to us. With a full schedule for the next few weeks, we have to hunt for that appointment that will work with your schedule.
